Paris doorway

Doorways of Paris; Maison Paroissiale-Presbytere, not the grandest but near the entry to Église Saint-Séverin. Still, I think this doorway has its own character. Just around the corner from a booklover’s important Paris stop, The Abbey Bookshop, it is on the way to the popular pedestrian street, Rue Saint-Séverin. Between this door and Rue Saint-Séverin is the entrance to the Église Saint-Séverin, which is just one more impressive Paris church to see.

Arched doorway in Paris

Porte le deuxième. And some entrances of regular buildings are a bit grander. You can’t always believe the signage though. I guess it is a little difficult to change.

Heavy Wooden Doorway in Paris

Porte le troisième. How do the French stay in good shape? They do their weight training on a daily basis with these heavy doors. But this was supposed to be wine Wednesday. In scanning my stock photo library, however, I could not find a single wine shop door. Couldn’t even find a Nicolas in the background and there must be one of those every couple blocks. So I immediately booked a trip to Paris to remedy that situation. Well, maybe we did have a trip booked in a few weeks but I do vow to remedy the situation. Why else would I go to a cave à vins in Paris?

Gated doorway

Outdoor door looking out. A doorway with a view in the forest. When I walk in Paris I’m quite amazed at how often the Eiffel Tower pops up; looking down a street or at a wide round about, seemingly no matter how far away you are. Well, looking down a pathway, miles out of Paris, in the forêt de Saint Germain en Laye, there it is. Not exactly popping up but that is la tour Eiffel in the distance.

The Doors CD

Well, after a week of posting the best of my Paris doors photos, I better get some Friday coffee and do some writing. Not sure why but for some reason I feel the urge to write while listening to “The Best of The Doors.” Time to “Break On Through” and hoping for no “Roadhouse Blues.”
