What I didn’t know, however, was that Benjamin Disraeli, known as a politician and two time Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, was also a novelist. Lothair, which is one of many books he wrote, is described as philosophical fiction.

Market Book Table
I finished last week visiting a Saint Germain en Laye cat so I thought I’d start this week moving along to centre-ville and the market. The Saint Germain market, I think, is one of the best but somehow I ended up at the book stall. Maybe it was because it reminded me of how I have my books arranged. At any rate, if you desire visiting a French market, you’d be hard pressed to find a better one. Just the RER A with the Saint Germain en Laye terminus from Paris on, as per the Saint Germain website, Sundays, Tuesdays and Fridays from 8:30am to 1pm.” I used the website because I can never remember the weekdays. For me, however, the Sunday market is the best.

London Embankment Place
I think I’m going to put on my travel hat and go for a walk down the River Thames. I’m going to walk because it looks like I’m going to miss my train from Charring Cross. So close but yet so far because between the Golden Jubilee Bridges runs all the train tracks over the Thames. At least from the Golden Jubilee Bridge I’m on, I got a good view of the station and its more modern office building part, Embankment Place.

I imagine all writers think about being cut out to be a writer. With this thought and some doubt, I sat down at sunset by my trusted Underwood to do some writing. Is there a better way to write these days than an Underwood? Strangely, I noticed an old note sitting there. How did it get there? It turned out, however, to be just what I needed. How did Hemingway know?

London Eye
Since returning from London, now I realize I should have paid attention to exactly how the London Eye is illuminated at night. This looked like a good idea with the modern Eye and the vintage lighting.

St. James Church
Strolling along Piccadilly isn’t just for shopping. St James’s Church stands out. From the 1600’s along with being hit during the London Blitz in 1940, St. James’s Church survived pretty well, I would say.

No Antisocial Driving
Good idea. I love London but I’m not sure this sign has completely had the desired impact. London, however, does try to respect people with initiatives such as these Public Spaces Protection Orders in The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.
