Week that Was in a Writer’s Images
Galerie Vivienne in photos for week of the August 7th to August 11th by Author Scot Fin. Full size slideshow at the bottom of this post.
Galerie Vivienne Photo – August 7th
I think I’ve been reading and writing too much. Starting to see flying pink pigs. Actually, it was good to see my friends were still at here after a few years.
Vintage sign Photo – August 8th
Someone else is looking for books in Galerie Vivienne. This vintage sign displayed at Librairie Jousseaume shows the detail of many old store signs and I think will lead me on a search for that hat.
Wine and Books Photo – August 9th
A couple window displays at the Galerie … and why was it I like this passage again? Wine and books come together here in these two separate window displays. Two of my favourite things very nicely displayed.
Galerie Vivienne Photo – August 10th
Ancienne and Moderne books come with some architecture … and plumbing. Certainly the ancienne part of the signage comes through in this picture. Along with the grand old architecture comes the reality of making these old structures work. So many places in Paris have the building, I guess I’ll say, ‘workings’ exposed. Part of the charm.
Galerie Vivienne Photo – August 11th
And the place this week’s photographs came from … . Located at 4 Rue des Petits Champs, this covered passage is one of the most well known of Paris’ covered shopping passages. The main entrance on Rue des Petits Champs is the grand entrance pictured here. You can also enter from the side streets such as Rue Vivienne. That side entrance is close to the outside window of the flying pink pig picture so there is more to see than just the passage way. What else might you find; well also on Rue Vivienne is the Grand Colbert restaurant of Jack Nicholson’s movie, ‘Something’s Gotta Give’ fame. But then I write books so I shouldn’t be talking about movies.
