Merry Christmas … no … wait … it’s end of April. While many of you enjoyed a nice warm spring weekend, I decided to have a cup of coffee and read during a nice spring snow storm .

Just a few people coming over to visit me at my Chateau. Well, if I did have a Loire Valley Chateau, it would be the Château de Chenonceau. It is in the Loire Valley area but actually spans the River Cher.
Château de Chenonceau, however, is one of the area’s most popular chateaus and for good reason. Furthermore, it is my favourite to visit and have a picnic lunch.

My wife and I were going to have a glass of wine but decided to take a selfie in front of the bookcase first. Now, for some reason, we can’t get it out of heads that maybe we drink too much wine. Nah. Maybe we should rethink our wardrobe though.
As for this bottle, we’re Canadian but drink very little Canadian wine so we decided to try some. We weren’t influenced by the cute label … I don’t think. It was fairly inexpensive and was a good table wine so perhaps we will go Canadian … or at least add some Canadian to the numerous other countries’ wines that we are accustomed to.

“Just think of any negativity that comes at you as a raindrop falling into the ocean of your bliss” – Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. I’ve put this quote on an ocean scene with that negativity being dashed on those rocks.

Hard at work in the kitch … I mean bistro. Due to my lack of ability in the kitchen, I’m not really allowed. So, bistro it is. I can, however, chop. Instead of jam I make my own spread.
Fresh strawberries and blueberries chopped with some cannelle (much better than cinnamon, or does it just sound better in French) for a healthy alternative to jam. The bistro cookbook, if I did have kitchen talent, I’m sure the recipes are good but remember, as the book emphasizes, this is a bistro, not a kitchen.
